Rose Hill/Osborn/Cahoon Cabin Open (Cemetery Tour)

Ready to discover the stories that shaped Bay Village? Join the Bay Village Historical Society on Sunday, October 4, for an afternoon of history at Lakeside Cemetery.

This year’s Cemetery Tour celebrates the lives of Revolutionary War veterans, reenacted by members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), and War of 1812 soldiers from Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, while introducing visitors to the Bay Village Historical Society’s exciting new Cemetery Interpretation Project.

Throughout the cemetery, visitors will encounter historical reenactors portraying early settlers and pioneers who fought in the Revolution and the War of 1812, bringing the community’s past to life through self-guided tours and engaging stories. As part of the new interpretation project, prominent gravesites will feature QR codes linking to biographies, photographs, and enriching stories about the individuals buried there. Visitors can explore the lives of members of the Cahoon, Wolf, Aldrich, Foote, and many other families whose contributions helped shape Bay Village.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or looking for a unique way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon outside, this tour offers an opportunity to connect with the people who built our community and preserved its legacy.
