Rose Hill/Osborn/Cahoon Cabin Open (John Burke)

Beginning at 2:00pm at the Bay Village library, join us for another round of John Burke’s rendition of Jim Smith: Captured by the Indians at British General Braddock’s defeat in 1756, Smith was the first white man to see Medina County where he wintered at Panther Cave, now Whipps Ledges, in Hinckley, Ohio. Hear of his capture and adoption as an Indian through the journal he kept. Escaping from the Indians he becomes a lieutenant in Colonel Bouquet’s Ohio expedition against the Indians in 1763 and a Colonel in the Revolutionary War.
