A talk about the Wischmeyer boat collection
November 7 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Are they leftover toys or model pond racers? Neither. A closer look at the Wischmeyer model boat collection tells a story of commercial fishing along Lake Erie and boatbuilding in the Rocky River/Dover Bay area. Ed Neal, a boater and hobby boatbuilder, recently examined the models in detail as he cleaned and restored them. Ed will talk about the unique features of each boat and discuss how each fits into a historical Lake Erie context. Presented for the non-boater and boater alike, the talk will provide a fresh perspective for viewing and considering the shoreline of Bay Village. Presented inside Rose Hill Museum.
